This project is incredibly simple but it creates the most fun and unique cards. You can create combinations of colors using the paints and create your own unique looking card to send. The steps are pretty simple. Follow these steps.

  • Heavyweight paper
  • Envelope on A2 size
  • Acrylic paints
  • Letter stickers
  • Old reward cards or credit card
  • Masking tape
  • Paper towel

The Making Steps

1Cut your paper to any size you prefer. This project uses 8.5 inch x 5.5 inch cut. Lay the paper on the working layer and tape it down so it doesn’t move as well. If it still moves, remove the working layer and work on your countertop. If you do this, make sure you previously prepare a cleaner nearby so you can immediately clean the area when you are finish working. Take the paints you prepare and drip several drops on the cut paper.

2Place the old gift card or credit card over the drops on one side and press the edge. Scrape down the paint by pulling down the card slowly. Do it until you reach the edge of the paper. You may not be able to cover the entire paper surface at first.

3Wipe the card clean using paper towel immediately while the paint is still wet. Make sure the remaining paint is gone clean. It allows you to have good colors for the next side. If you have to, use the other side of the card, or simply use a new card. Repeat steps no. 2 to scrape down the remaining side of the paper.

4Wait until the paint gets dry. Slowly, remove the tape and peel the paper up. Remove the remaining paint on the edge of the paper and set aside. In this step, your paper is transformed into a card, ready to get enriched with letter stickers.

5Take the card you want to décor and prepare the letter stickers. Choose the words you want to say and prepare the letters. Layout the letters placement by marking the spot with pencil so they will be centered. When you are ready, attach the stickers. Now, your card is ready to use.

  • This is going to be a little bit messy so it is recommended for you to layer your working surface with thick paper, old newspaper, plastic table cloth, or anything that can be firmed. Make sure it stays and it doesn’t move throughout the process. If you don’t use working layer, use cleaning product to clean your countertop. Clorox Scentiva is a recommended product to use.
